Iver acquires Aztek, taking the next step towards becoming the Nordic market leader in digital transformation and cloud services.

12 April 2021 / Press release

Iver has acquired Aztek, one of Norway’s leading consultants in the field of cloud transformation and cloud security. The acquisition is the next stage in Iver’s progress towards becoming a leading provider of digital transformation and cyber security services, with extensive expertise in code-based infrastructure. The acquisition creates a very strong combined offering for the two companies, with cloud-based technology and up to date development, security, and operations methodologies that will accelerate their clients’ digital innovation.

There is huge demand for the expertise that Aztek possesses in public cloud platforms in general and Azure in particular. Iver has been working actively on the recruitment and training of staff in these areas of expertise, and the acquisition of Aztek further strengthens Iver’s position and skill sets. At the end of last year, Iver acquired City Network, who offer cloud services with built-in regulatory compliance based on open-source code. This, together with the acquisition of Aztek, gives Iver a unique cloud offering in the Nordic IT market, and the strength of the combined offering yields a modern, forward-looking partner who can help companies and organisations reap the maximum possible commercial benefit from their digital transformation.

“We have been working with Aztek for some time now on a number of demanding engagements in connection with our clients’ cloud transformation. It became clear, over the course of the collaborations, that Aztek and Iver complement one another very well. Aztek has extensive competence and a very strong offering in consultancy services and transformation to cloud- and code-based infrastructure, application development, and DevOps. By combining Aztek’s offering with Iver’s extensive operational experience, we strengthen both companies’ skillsets, position, and potential. The acquisition also, much to our delight, doubles our workforce in Norway, where we now have over 150 members of staff,” says Carl-Magnus Månsson, CEO of Iver.

“We’ve really got to know each other well through our successful collaborations on a range of client projects, and we feel that the time is now right for a partnership. It’s important, both for Iver and for Aztec, that we maintain and continue to develop Aztec’s focus on growth and ongoing skill development. Aztek’s growth will, of course, now accelerate, as our offering and cutting-edge competence intersects with Iver’s substantial customer base and operational expertise. The acquisition removes any potential barriers to further growth, and both Iver and Aztek can see the huge benefits entailed in strengthening each other through a more in-depth collaboration,” says Snorre Meland, CEO of Aztek Group AS.

Aztek will continue to operate as an independent company under the Aztek name. And as in all partnerships, the key to success is strengthening each other and ensuring that both parties continue to develop.

“We will function as independent units under separate brands, but with a combined market offering. We are also looking forward to a partnership characterised by an in-depth understanding of the client’s operations and challenges. Both companies are really keen to learn about each other’s strengths and areas of expertise, because together, we will be able to generate a broader offering for our clients and guide them, individually and collectively, to the cloud services that are best for them, based on their preconditions and requirements,” concludes Carl-Magnus Månsson.
